The Maggie Baylis photograph of Queen Elizabeth (passenger liner) (P79-128, SAFR 14918) consists of the camera original black-and-white 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 in. safety negative, a black-and-white 5-3/4 x 4-1/2 in. copy negative, and a black-and-white 4 x 4 in. copy print (on a 8 x 10 in. sheet) of the passenger liner Queen Elizabeth at dock in San Francisco during World War II photographed by Maggie Baylis on March 13, 1942.

The shot was taken out of a window in war time by Maggie Baylis from Alta Street (originally this was documented as taken from Gerke Alley) on Telegraph Hill. At the time, Ms. Baylis was experimenting with photography and trying for a certain affect when she took the photograph.
