Warren K. Miller (April 24, 1921 - April 17, 2008) was a trolley car enthusiast and photographer and a California bus operator. Born, raised and educated in San Francisco, Mr. Miller also resided in El Cerrito, then Tracy, CA. He joined the U.S. Army May 21, 1943 where he was a military policeman during WWII in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns in 1944. He was honorably discharged from active military service February 12, 1946, and he continued to serve in the Active Army Reserve until retirement May 12, 1983 with the rank of chief warrant officer 4.
After WWII Mr. Miller, along with partners Bill Billings, Arthur Loyd and Brian Thompson founded Sequoia Stage Lines, which later became Eastshore Lines. Over the years Mr. Miller acquired and operated several companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Falcon Charter Service, Amtravel, Amtravel-International, and Greenbelt Stage Lines. Mr. Miller was also a train enthusiast who participated in the Northern California Railroad Club and California State Railroad Museum. Mr. Miller was a founding member of United Bus Owners of America, one of the founding directors of Trans Pacific National Bank, San Francisco, and a member of SKAL International, a worldwide association of travel and tourism professionals, and San Francisco Olympic Club.
A bachelor most of his life, Mr. Miller waited until he was 50 before marrying in April 1972 to his wife, Janice Brosius King Miller, who died April 3, 1993 after 20 years of marriage. Mr. Miller was buried next to Janice in a private military service at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA, on May 12, 2008.
