Scope and content:

The Papers of Al Kroeker are comprised of radio scripts, and church bulletins with sermon notes that illustrate his prolific work as the executive director and voice of the radio show, Words of the Gospel, as well as his work as an itinerant preacher. Churches of note: El Camino Bible Church (Santa Clara, CA), Kingsburg MB Church (Kingsburg, CA), First Baptist (Chowchilla, CA), North Fresno MB Church (Fresno, CA), Good News Fellowship (Ferndale, WA ), Vinewood Community Church (Lodi, CA), Church of the Nazarene (Reedley, CA), and Palm Village Retirement Community (Reedley, CA).

Biographical / historical:

Alvin E. Kroeker was born in Dallas, OR July 6, 1921 and died in Kingsburg, CA July 17, 2004. A pastor of many Mennonite Brethren and Baptist Churches he was known as an energetic visionary who encouraged many through his love of God and People. In addition to a long career of pastoral work Al Kroeker was well known for his work as the director of Words of the Gospel. A half hour radio program broadcast on Sunday mornings Words of the Gospel was the radio voice of the US MB Church in the 1960s.
