Scope and content:

The Lauren Hewitt papers relate to her work with the Jon Sims Center for the Performing Arts in San Francisco, California and the Wuornos Opera. Wuornos Opera was written and composed by Carla Lucero and produced by Lauren Hewitt. It had a premiere at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater. The opera was about the serial killer Aileen Wuornos. The collection includes material related to the opera, including production materials, programs and posters, audiovisual recordings and photographs, a set model, and publicity material. Some records of the Jon Sims Center are also included.
