Scope and content:

The vast majority of this collection consists of Strachan’s subject files, loosely organized and including printouts, clippings, publications, reports, newsletters, and correspondence. Most pertain to intersex and gender issues, Klinefelter Syndrome, the Intersex Society of North America, the San Francisco Human Rights Commission's Intersex Task Force, and similar organizations. The collection also contains a box of obituary clippings and memorabilia from Strachan’s friends who have passed, as well as some of Strachan’s medical records, which they have authorized to be made public. Biographical / historical:

David Iris Cameron Strachan is an intersex activist, a long-term HIV survivor, and a member of the Radical Faeries (“Iris” is their Radical Faerie name). Strachan has Klinefelter Syndrome (XXY chromosomes); they were diagnosed at the age of twenty-nine, and have devoted their activist life to educating the public about intersex experiences.

The collection was donated to the GLBT Historical Society by David Iris Cameron Strachan in 2005.
