The manuscript is titled "The Ancient Mexican Writing System", written by Charles E. Dibble and edited by E. R. Smith circa 1940. The title page also includes the sub-heading "Archaeology and Ethnology Paper no. 2, Museum of Anthropology, University of Utah." Pages of "A and B vocabulary elements" have been torn out.
