Background

Scope and content:

Consists of transcripts of interviews conducted by volunteers of six residents in 1995, 2005 and 2006. The project focused on people who lived there prior to the 1950s. Interviewees include Margaret Ann Garvin, Henry Mazza, Andy Molinari, Jack Molinari, Pat Hollingsworth, and Carolyn Wade.

Biographical / historical:

Sunnyside Neighborhood Association was established in 1974 to bring residents together to preserve, enhance, and empower the livability of the neighborhood. The group holds quarterly meetings, publishes a newsletter, and serves as a unified voice for the district. Located in south-central San Francisco, Sunnyside was founded in 1891 by Behrend Joost. It contains about 2800 households in its 43 blocks. Notable sites are City College and the Sunnyside Conservatory.
