Materials related to the history of surf culture and industry, primarily in Southern California, including industry and trade publications, association publications, limited run local magazines and newspapers, contest and event programs, other surfing related publications, and miscellaneous ephemera. Materials date from 1960s-early 1980s with the bulk of material from the 1970s.

Names of the publications include, but are not limited to: Zog Newsletter, Western Surfing Association's (WSA) Seabreeze, National Scholastic Surfing Association's (NSSA) Surflines, and Surfscenes and Waves magazine and newspaper.
