Biographical Note
Nils August Riffolt (1888-1957) immigrated to the United States from Sweden, changing his name from Nils August Magnusson.
In 1948 his only daughter Rita married Robert N. Varney (1910-2011), who served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Scope and Content of Collection
The collection includes patents, photographs, letters, two scrapbooks, and copy of the 1865 New York Herald.
