The Axel Widerstrom motion picture film of C.A. Thayer (built 1895; schooner, 3m) final voyage to San Francisco (P88-030, SAFR 17709) consists of one reel of 8mm silent, color motion picture film shot by Widerstrom during the C.A. Thayer's voyage down the Pacific Coast to San Francisco after her restoration in 1957.
Shot by Widerstrom while serving as a crew member, includes views of rigging and crew at work. The films total run time is 00:07:22.

Axel Widerstrom was the son of Capt. John Widerstrom of Alaska Packers Association and sailed under his father at 16 years of age on the Alaska Packers Association ships Star of France (built 1877; ship, 3m) and Star of Holland (built 1885; bark, 3m) from 1919-1921.

The film was found with other items in the ferry Eureka's wheelhouse and accessioned as field collection into the Golden Gate National Recreation Area's National Maritime Museum at San Francisco museum collection as GOGA-00144. The film was later transferred to San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park (SAFR-00001) in 1989.
