    Content Description

    This collection contains one correspondence from Specialist Richard A. Vollmer, United States Army to Joan Ralph during the Gulf War. Joan worked with Vollmer at a pharmacy at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois and wrote a letter to him overseas on the yellow copy of physician's orders paper and this was his response. SPC Vollmer served with AHD, 92nd Medical Battalion and wrote this letter from Riyadh. The stationery has a seal for Operation Desert Shield, Saudi Arabia and is lined with small pictures of servicemen during the operation. The envelope is matching, with the same seal and the postage area has hand written "FREE, Desert Storm."
