Scope and content:

The bulk of this collection includes 76 engravings and 9 etchings from “Character Sketches of Romance: Fiction and the Drama print Collection” by Rev. E. Cobham Brewer, LL.D. There are 40 additional engravings from a series published in 1861 entitled “The Eastern or Old World; Embracing Ancient and Modern History” by Henry Howard Brownell.
