Background

Scope and content:

The collection consists of blueprints of the house at 100 South Hudson Place in Los Angeles, Calif. There are 36 drawings of floor plans, sections, exterior elevations, gate and garage plans and elevations, interior elevations, details, and full size details.

Biographical / historical:

Jonathan Ring was born in 1878 and attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1905. He maintained a practice in Philadelphia until 1907, and also had offices in New York City and West Orange, New Jersey. In the early 1920s he moved to the Los Angeles area and designed houses in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles and the Oak Knoll section of Pasadena.
