Background

Scope and content:

The first series, "Chapman University papers," contains the formal Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes from the 1930s to the 1990s, as well as informal handwritten notes for the Board of Trustees. It also contains notes about Chapman College's finances from 1960 to 1975, and it contains faculty meeting minutes from the 1960s to the 1990s. Finally, this collection contains a copy of the book, "Ancestral Roots of Sixty Colonists: Who Came to New England Between 1623 and 1650." This book was given to Don Booth by Beverly Waid.

The second series, "Louise Booth misc. realia," contains ephemera, photographs, and Chinese scrolls.

The third series, "Louise Booth papers," contains a number of history journal issues, and a number of files and a binder. Further processing is needed.

The fourth series, "Louise Booth correspondence," contains hundreds of letters between Louise Booth and her French penpal Jeanne Roullet.

Louise Booth, wife of Chapman Professor Donald Booth, was an Orange County historian who wrote on local history including a history of Chapman University

Arrangement:

This collection is arranged in three series. The first series is a collection of papers related to Chapman University business. It contains the meeting minutes of the Board of Trustees from the 1930s to the 1990s. The second series contains ephemera and realia, such as photographs and Chinese scrolls. The third series needs further processing.
