Biographical / historical:

Alfred C. Brundage of Delaware County, Ohio, was appointed assistant surgeon of the 32nd Regiment of Ohio Infantry in September 1861; the regiment was assigned to the Department of West Virginia. It was captured in September 1862, at Harper's Ferry, paroled, sent to Chicago, Illinois, and then to Cleveland, Ohio. In January 1863, following trials of the commanding officers, the regiment was re-organized and assigned to the 17th Army Corps.
