Memoirs written by Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich Romanov (1866-1933). This is the full version of his memoirs, including material not included in the published version of "Once a Grand Duke".

Biographical / historical:

Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich Romanov (1866-1933) was a Russian naval officer, aviator, and author. A grandson of Tsar Nicholas I and Grand Duchess Olga Feodorovna, he served as Vice Admiral in the Imperial Navy. Married to Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, sister of Nicholas II, he served as a close advisor to the emperor. Following the Russian Revolution, he lived in exile in France, where he authored memoirs detailing his experiences in the imperial court.
