Scope and content:

The materials in this collection were created from 1968-1978. The entire collection consists of posters. The posters announce events presented by the Chicano Studies Department at California State University, Los Angeles. The events include Feria De La Raza, United Mexican-American Students Present Community Day on Campus and a series of posters announcing the message, "Conoce Tu Herencia Cultural".

Biographical / historical:

The Cal State LA Chicano/a Poster Collection was donated to Special Collections by Maria Flores is a graduate student at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) in Chicano Studies. Flores completed her undergraduate degree at CSULA in Industrial Engineering. During undergraduate career at CSULA she was a campus leader in the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlรกn (MEChA). She is currently the Director of Case Management at Homeboy Industries.
