According to grandson, Andrew Horn, John T. Horn retired as a Southern Pacific fireman out of Santa Clara, California. The grandson noted that Horn began working for a railroad at age 16 and was a locomotive engineer with the Union Pacific from Ogden to Salt Lake, Utah.
