Scope and content:

This collection of 2,240 black-and-white glass lantern slides features images of notable Asian art, architecture, monuments, and landscapes from the early twentieth century. Countries represented include China, Japan, Korea, and India. The collection also includes a number of art-historical images of Greece and Asia Minor. The collection was amassed by the Department of History at Pomona College, most likely for lectures on art history. The collection also includes a box of notecards with additional descriptions of each lantern slide.

Acquisition information:
Material was donated to the Pacific Basin Institute by the Pomona College History Department.
