This collection, River Lines Company records (SAFR 13560, HDC 15), consists of freight receipts and abstracts of way bills from 1945. This collection is processed to the collection level and is available for use without restrictions.
- Biographical / historical:

Agency History In 1927, the California Transportation Company, Sacramento Navigation Company, and Fay Transportation Company unified their operations between San Francisco, Stockton, and Sacramento and merged into the River Lines Company. Their operations were initially located in San Francisco at Pier 3, Sacramento at the Foot of M Street, and Stockton at the Head of the Channel.
In the 1970s, Crowley Maritime bought the River Lines Company and subsumed the company's assets into its own operations. Sometime between 1982 and 1986, the facilities were sold off.

This collection was transferred from the Golden Gate National Recreation Area museum collection to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park museum collection.
