Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of writer, activist, and politician Upton Sinclair's (1878-1968) and the End Poverty League's publication EPIC News. End Poverty in California (EPIC) was part of Sinclair's 1934 Democratic gubernatorial campaign and gained momentum following his defeat through the support of the End Poverty League. EPIC News detailed Sinclair's ideas for public works programs and tax reform plans. The paper was continued by supporters of Upton Sinclair and the End Poverty Movement in Los Angeles and central California, 1934-46.

Issues from 1936-1946 are present.
