This collection consists of approximately 200 scripts and transcriptions for the radio programs of comedian and actor Jimmy Durante (1893-1980), dating from 1943 to 1947. His radio shows included "The Chase and Sanborn Hour," "The Jumbo Fire Chief Program," The Durante-Moore Show," and "The Jimmy Durante Show."

Biographical / historical:

Jimmy Durante (1893-1980) was an American actor, comedian, singer, vaudevillian, and pianist. He often referred to his iconic nose as the "schnozzola," and the word became his nickname. His radio shows included "The Chase and Sanborn Hour," "The Jumbo Fire Chief Program," The Durante-Moore Show," and "The Jimmy Durante Show."
