Abstract:
The Henry "Terry" Duffy and Dale Winter papers consist of clippings, publications, playbills, and photographs documenting the careers of theatrical producer Henry Duffy and his wife Dale Winter. Duffy and Winter, who were married, worked together for a number of years, and opened a theater together. The collection also includes information about performances by Charlotte Greenwood, Edward Everett Horton, and Billie Burke, as well as documenting the careers of Duffy and Winter.

Scope and content:

The Henry "Terry" Duffy and Dale Winter papers consist of clippings, publications, playbills, and photographs documenting the careers of theatrical producer Henry Duffy and his wife Dale Winter. Included is a copy of Dennis M. Duffy's "Henry 'Terry' Duffy: American's Theatrical Stock Company King"; financial statements for perfomances produced by Duffy and his Henry Duffy Attractions and starring Charlotte Greenwood and Edeward Everett Horton; financial statements for perfomances at the El Capitan and Alcazar theaters in Los Angeles; a soucenir program for the Duffwin Theatre, the theatre founded by Duffy and Winter; clippings documenting Dale Winter's early career; programs for some of Winter's performances; a facsimile of the original score for the musical "Irene", in which Winter performed; programs for performances starring Billie Burke; and clippings and photographs about and of the operatic conductor Lotfi Mansouri, along with correspondence between Mansouri and Winter.
