Background

Scope and content:

The Natsumeda Family Granada Camp Collection (April 1944 -1945) contains 345 mb of material collected from the Natsumeda family during their incarceration at the Granada incarceration camp during World War II. The collection includes a Buddhist Sunday service program and a Granada incarceration camp directory.

Biographical / historical:

The Granada incarceration camp was established on August 27, 1942, in Amache, Colorado. The Natsumeda family likey moved to the camp in September 1942 and left in September or October 1945. After leaving camp, the Natsumeda family most likely moved to New York and then to California.

Acquisition information:
This collection was donated during a Scanning Day event in 2018. All material was returned to the donor.
Processing information:

The Gerth Archives and Special Collections created digital reproductions from the original material for long-term preservation and access. These preservation files (11.1 gb, 278 tif files) were scanned to and stored on the Gerth Archives and Special Collections Deparment Drive.
