Abstract: Consists of a variety of ephemera related to social, protest, and

Area. The bulk of the mateiral dates from 1965-1980. The collection includes ephemeral
materials such as flyers, brochures, announcements, newsletters, and newspapers.

Files in series 1 (General social, protest and counterculture movements) are arranged
alphabetically by name of thing, event, place, or topic represented.
Files in series 2 (Organizations and publications) are arranged alphabetically by
organization or publication.
Scope and Contents
Consists of a variety of ephemera related to social, protest, and counterculture movements
in California, particularly in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Some materials are
from organizations outside of California, but were collected by participants in movements
located in California. The bulk of the material dates from 1965-1980. The collection
includes ephemeral materials such as flyers, brochures, announcements, newsletters, and
newspapers.
Series 1 (General social, protest and counterculture movements) includes materials related
to the Anti-Vietnam War, Free Speech, international human rights and women's movements.
Series 2 (Organizations and publications) includes ephemera related to social justice,
anti-war, civil rights and countercultural organizations and publications, such as
newsletters and newspapers, related to these topics.
