Consists of a variety of ephemera created by activist groups and organizations relating to social, protest, and counterculture movements in California, particularly in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Some materials are from organizations outside of California, but were collected by participants in movements located in California. The bulk of the material dates from 1965-1980. The collection includes flyers, brochures, announcements, newsletters, broadsides, newsletters, newspapers, and other printed materials related to social justice, civil rights, gay and lesbian rights, womens' rights, the Anti-Vietnam War Movement and the Free Speech Movement.
