The collection contains materials related to campus ceremonies, dedications, lectures, programs, and receptions. Also included are meeting minutes for the Committee on Public Ceremonies.
- Biographical / historical:

The Office of Ceremonies and Special Events has been formerly known as Campus Services and Ceremonies as well as Visitor Services and Ceremonies. Circa 1947-1973, there was a Committee on Public Ceremonies which was later renamed the On Campus Public Programs Advisory Committee.
In 2011, the Office of Ceremonies & Special Events became a unit within the Office of the Chancellor. Prior to this, the unit had reported to the Vice Chancellor of University Relations.
