Background

Scope and content:

"There were two members of the Boeck family in medicine. One preceded Hansen as Chief of the Bergen Leprosarium and at first I thought that this might be Hansen's transcripts of his lectures. But I am told this is Cesar [sic] Boeck's work, the describer of Boeck's sarcoidosis. The handwriting is probably that of some nondescript student as mimeographed copies of lecture notes in this form were common at that time, though the University at bergen has no copy of this aprticular one. Some dates in the text indicate that is was published subsequent to 1888 and so was not influential in Hansen's formative period (Lepra bacillus discovered ca. 1876). The 'note benes' are probably those of Hansen."--Manuscript note by former owner, bound-in at start of text.
