The Marilyn Blaisdell photograph collection, 1851-1920, (SAFR 24819, P77-005) is comprised of photographs of early views of San Francisco, California. The collection has been processed to the Item level and is open for use.

Contains copy photographs of waterfront views in San Francisco, California, 1851-1920. There are 21 unique photographic images in 23 physical forms (black-and-white photographic copy prints and black-and-white copy negatives). The collection includes both photographed views and photographs of illustrated views. Most views are from on land looking toward the waterfront with landmarks such as Yerba Buena Island or Alcatraz Island in the distance.

GOGA-00789

Received from Marilyn Blaisdell as an exchange in return for loan of SFMM negatives and prints in 1977. The original paperwork states that there were (23) 8 x 10 in. photographic prints, but only (21) were found at the time of processing in 2016 (7 in Classified Collection storage and 14 in P-number collection storage). Two copy negatives were made from the photographic prints in 1995 and on an unknown date.

SAFR-00001 is a blanket accession that was transferred from the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in September 1988. GGNRA had previously acquired the collection from the San Francisco Maritime Museum when it became a unit of the National Park Service in 1977.

GOGA-00789 was transferred from the J. Porter Shaw Library to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) in February 1985.
