A complete anatomical ophthalmology teaching kit, The Anatomy of the Human Eye: As Illustrated by Enlarged Stereoscope Photographs, created by Oxford professor Arthur Thomson. The kit includes 67 stereoscopic photographs of human eye anatomy with accompanying printed text, an index to the photographs, and the original clamshell box.

Biographical / historical:

Arthur Thomson (1858-1935) was a British anatomist and anthropologist. He taught at the University of Oxford for most of his career and helped establish the anthropology department there. Thomson was an avid painter and interested in the overlap between art and anatomical studies. He also taught anatomy at the Royal Academy of Art, and exhibited his own artwork there.
