A collection of 17 pamphlets belonging to gay activist and business owner Rick Earl Stokes. Titles include: Toward a Quaker View of Sex, Revised Edition (1964); Homosexuality: A Contemporary View of the Biblical Perspective (1966); Churchmen Speak Out on Homosexual Law Reform (1967); The Church and the Homosexual (circa 1967), two copies; Social Progress: A Journal of Church and Society issue “What About Homosexuality?” (November/December 1967), two copies; Brief Non-Fiction Bibliography on Homosexuality (circa 1967); Social Action issue on “Civil Liberties and Homosexuality” (December 1967); The Challenge and Progress of Homosexual Law Reform (1968); Essays on Homosexuality: Council on Religion and the Homosexual (1968); Homosexuality and the Sickness Theory (1969), two copies; Informatiebulletin Dialoog issue (May/June 1969); and Sexuality and the Human Community (1970). The collection also includes a program from Stokes’s July 16, 2022 memorial service at the Century Club of California in San Francisco.
