Scope and content:

The collections consists of a speech by T. drew Mashburn about the opening of Steckel Park,, 1926: a 1936 report by the Department of the Interior, correspondence about the CCC in Ventura County and copies of photographs in the Park and at Foster CCC.

Biographical / historical:

M. L. Steckel, mayor of Santa Paula was the park founder. It opened on September 6, 1926. He donated it to Ventura County.
