Scope and content:

This collection contains business and production records of John Wayne's company Batjac Productions. Records include personnel files, tax information, and post-production files from 1957-1975. Reports on film grosses, cast, crew, and production payroll, publicity, and music scores are present for such films as The Alamo (1960), McClintock! (1963), and McQ (1974). Files are arranged by project. Included is one oversize lithograph print of John Wayne by Larry Bees (1981).

Biographical / historical:

Co-founded by American actor John Wayne and producer Robert Fellows as Wayne/Fellows Productions in 1952, the company adopted the name Batjac Productions in 1956 and produced 26 films, 2 television specials, and 1 television series.
