- Biographical / historical:

Sergei Sergeevich Bezobrazov (1892-1965), known monastically as Bishop Cassian, was a Russian Orthodox theologian and bishop. Born in St. Petersburg, he studied theology and history in Russia before immigrating after the Revolution. In Paris, he became a founding member and rector of the Institut de Théologie Orthodoxe Saint-Serge. A New Testament scholar, he authored works on early Christian texts and ecclesiology. He was consecrated Bishop of Catania in 1947 and served as rector until his death. Grand Duchess Ksenii︠a︡ Aleksandrovna (1875-1960), daughter of Tsar Alexander III of Russia, was a member of the Russian imperial family who married Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich and lived in exile in the United Kingdom after the Russian Revolution.
