The collection primarily consists of correspondence, along with some memoirs and fictional writings, including plays. The correspondence and typescripts relate to Russian Γ©migrΓ©s, particularly military men and their organizations, as well as Russian politics, with a focus on plans to reestablish the Russian government and institutions following the collapse of the Bolshevik regime.

Biographical / historical:

Prince Sergei Georgievich Romanovskii (Romanovsky; Князь Романовский Π‘Π΅Ρ€Π³Π΅ΠΉ Π“Π΅ΠΎΡ€Π³ΠΈΠ΅Π²ΠΈΡ‡), 1890-1974; son of Prince George Maximilianovich Romanovskii, 6th Duke of Leuchtenberg, and Princess Anastasia of Montenegro. Graduated from the Naval Corps in 1911 and became a naval officer, with the rank of Senior Lieutenant by 1917. Participated in the anti-Bolshevik movement in South Russia from 1918 to 1920. Immigrated to Italy following the Russian Revolution. Succeeded his half-brother, Alexander Georgievich, as Duke of Leuchtenberg in 1942 and held the title until his death in Rome, Italy, in 1974.
