This collection includes folders of annotated sheet music scores performed by Bellson and associated acts, as well as Bellson's compositions. Louie Bellson (1924-2009) was an American drummer, composer, and instructor.

Louie Bellson (1924-2009) was an American drummer, composer, and instructor who performed on more than 200 albums with such musicians as Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louie Armstrong. Collection includes folders of annotated sheet music scores performed by Bellson and associated acts, as well as Bellson's compositions.
Bellson wrote over 1,000 compositions and arrangements that embrace elements of jazz, swing, romantic orchestral suites, symphonic works, and ballet. He has also published more than a dozen books on drums and percussion. Bellson was known throughout his career to conduct drum and band clinics at high schools, colleges and music stores.
