The collection includes letters written by Blandy to his sister in the United States during his work with the ARA in Soviet Russia, photographs, and glass plate negatives.

Harold Faviell Blandy (1889-1922) was an American relief worker with the American Relief Administration (ARA) in Soviet Russia during the 1921-1922 famine. He died of typhus in Ufa, Russia, in May 1922.
