Edward G. Robinson (1893-1973) was an American actor in theater, film, and television. He acted in 30 Broadway plays and more than 100 films during his 50-year long career. Robinson ranks number 24 on the American Film Institute's list of the 25 greatest male stars of Classic American cinema. American actor Edward G. Robinson Jr. (1933-1974) is his son. Following his death in 1973, Robinson was given an honorary Oscar.
