The transcripts include filings from appeal cases elevated out of Los Angeles County including Respondent's Points and Authorities, Appellant's Points and Authorities, Appeal Transcripts, Appellant's Briefs, and Respondent's Briefs. Topics include but are not limited to estate settlements, personal property damages, land disputes, a divorce filed by a woman, murder, rape, grand larceny, and derailing and robbing a train.

Scope and content:

The California Supreme Court Transcript Collection consists of transcripts from the Supreme Court of the State of California dating from 1876 to 1918. The transcripts include filings from appeal cases elevated out of Los Angeles County including Respondent's Points and Authorities, Appellant's Points and Authorities, Appeal Transcripts, Appellant's Briefs, and Respondent's Briefs.

The appeal cases in the collection deal with a broad range of topics including but not limited to estate settlements, personal property damages, land disputes, a divorce filed by a woman, murder, rape, grand larceny, and derailing and robbing a train.

The transcripts for some of the earlier County of Los Angeles trials can be found in the Early Los Angeles Court Transcript Collection. These include People of the State of California vs. John Craig, People of the State of California vs. W. H. Thompson, and People of the State of California vs. M. A. Mayes.
