Scope and content:: The Stage and Film Magazines Collection, 1932-1973,consists of approximately five linear feet of material in 11 boxes. Each series is arranged chronologically with undated materials at the end. Some undated materials have been interfiled with the dated materials if other clues provided the appropriate information. The collection is divided in the following five series: Series One: Film, 1969-1971 (.25 linear feet); Series Two: The Playbill, 1945-1973 (1 linear foot); Series Three: The Playgoer, 1939-1970 (.25 linear feet); Series Four: The Stage, 1932-1941 (3 linear feet); Series Five: Theatres and Programs, 1943-197[1?] (.25 linear feet). This series consists of individual theatre programs and playbills as well as a few entertainment-related publications. A few items are undated and the assumed dates are indicated in brackets. A few of the publications represented include Chicago Stagebill, La Jolla Playhouse, Music Magazine of Los Angeles, and Playfare. Programs include those of Oklahoma (1943), Oh Captain! (1958), and Maggie May (1964).
