Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of 56 volumes of press clipping albums compiled by Oscar Wilde bibliographer Christopher Sclater Millard between 1909 and 1927. The majority of clippings are largely related to Oscar Wilde and Lord Alfred Douglas (and his ongoing legal cases). Most clippings are from British local and national newspapers and were collection for Millard by professional news cutting companies.

Acquisition information:

Purchase, Seymour de Ricci at Dulau and Company, 1928 (accession MS.1928.002).

Dulau 218 (page 119) ( A collection of original manuscripts, letters books of Oscar Wilde, including his letters written to Robert Ross from Reading gaol and unpublished letters, poems plays formerly in the possession of Robert Ross, C.S.
