A collection of correspondence, manuscripts, and ephemera related to Hannah More. The correspondence includes letters to and from Charles James Hoare and his wife, Jane Isabella Hoare; letters to More's publishers Cadell & Davies; Rev. Renn Dickson Hampden; Selina Macaulay; Thomas Burgess, Bishop of Salisbury; Ann Kennicott; Sophia Matilda, Princess of Gloucester; Thomas Babington Macaulay, Baron Macaulay; and James Stephen. The letters discuss the political and religious issues of the day, including the death of Charlotte, Princess of Great Britain and the trial of her mother, Caroline, Queen consort of King George IV; the Catholic Question; abolitionists; spiritual life and religion. The collection also contains two poems by Thomas Macaulay and a black and white print of More's home Barley Wood, with an autograph note by More.
