Scope and content:: Tim DeBenedictis (born 1971) and Thomas Hubbard (born 1968) are a gay couple who helped to organize protests in opposition to California’s Proposition 8, a ballot initiative and constitutional amendment that limited state recognition of marriage in California to unions between a man and a woman. The collection includes digital photographs, videos, press releases, and e-mails documenting protests in Oakland and San Francisco following the proposition’s passage. Also included is a short film by DeBenedictis and Hubbard entitled “Prop 8: A Personal Story.”
