Scope and content:

This collection consists of magic lanterns, antique scientific lantern slides, a Kinora, and seven Kinora reels. The magic lantern and Kinora were early entertainment devices that projected images.

Biographical / historical:

The Kinora was an early motion picture device developed in 1895.

The magic lantern was an early type of image projector developed in the 17th century.
