Biographical / historical:

Meyerstein was born on August 11, 1889 in Hampstead, London, England; attended Harrow and Magdalen College, Oxford; assistant in the British Museum Department of Manuscripts; wrote poetry, novels, plays, short stories, and non-fiction; also became a music critic and pianist; published works include The Door (1911), Life of Thomas Chatterton (1930), Joshua Slade (1938), Robin Wastraw (1951), and Phoebe Thirsk (1953); he died on September 12, 1952.
