Abstract:
Levine was born on May 15, 1930 in Medford, Massachusetts. He received his AB from Boston University in 1952 and his Ph.D from Columbia University in 1959. He was a research associate at the Columbia University Bureau of Applied Social Research from 1954-64, research sociologist at the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development from 1964-65 and became assistant professor of sociology at UCLA in 1965. His books include, Workers Vote: the Political Behavior of Men in the Printing Trade (1963) and The Japanese American Community: a Three-generation Study (1981). The collection consists of original completed survey forms of the UCLA Japanese American Research Project (JARP).
