Abstract:
The collection includes the script, photographs, and research materials gathered to support production of the 1940 Warner Bros. motion picture, Dr. Ehrlich's magic bullet, which focused on Paul Ehrlich's work to develop effective chemical cures for diphtheria and syphilis. A bound oversize album contains many illustrations to guide studio set designers, props, art and costume departments, etc. Articles, many of which have been excerpted and translated from the original German, include biographies, some of Ehrlich's publications, and commentaries on his syphilis treatment.
