ClaraVision, the Santa Clara University Archives digital photograph collection, includes photographs, postcards, and other graphic materials, that capture the rich visual history of Mission Santa Clara established in 1777, Santa Clara College founded in 1851, and the present-day Santa Clara University. The images document student life, the built environment, and people and events associated with Santa Clara University and Mission Santa Clara.

Scope and content:

Named after Santa Clara Universit's patron saint St. Clare, and the patron saint of television, ClaraVision contains images of photographs, postcards, artifacts, and other ephemera from the University Archives collections. The images reflect the rich visual history of Mission Santa Clara and Santa Clara University. Documenting the time continuum from the founding of Mission Santa Clara in 1777, through the establishment of Santa Clara College in 1851, to our present-day Santa Clara University, the images capture student life, athletic events, the built environment, Mission-period life at Mission Santa Clara, and students, faculty, staff and others affiliated with Santa Clara University.

ClaraVision is an artificially-created digital collection of images taken from various physical collections, primarily photographs, in the Santa Clara University Archives. The source collections include the Santa Clara University General Photograph Collection, Santa Clara University Sports Photograph Collection, Bernard R. Hubbard, S.J. Alaskan Photograph Collection, John J. Montgomery Photograph Collection, Henry Wolter Photograph Collection, and others.
