Cliff Farrell (1899-1977) was the telegraph editor, night news editor, and sports news editor for the Los Angeles Examiner (1925-56). He also wrote many western novels, more than 600 short stories and novellas for fiction magazines. The collection consists of thirteen manuscripts of western novels and over 400 western fiction magazine articles containing Farrell's short stories. Also includes about 40 paperback books, including both first editions and foreign editions.

Biographical / historical:

Farrell was born November 20, 1899 in Zanesville, Ohio; telegraph editor, night news editor, and sports news editor, Los Angeles Examiner (1925-56); wrote many western novels, including West With the Missouri (1955), Fort Deception (1960), Death Trap on the Platte (1968), and The Devil's Playground (1976); wrote more than 600 short stories and novellas for fiction magazines; died in 1977.
