Collection consists of letters from various authors to literary agent William Morris Colles and his associates. Correspondents include Sir James Barrie, Arnold Bennett, E.F. Benson, Ford Madox Ford, Rider Haggard, and Somerset Maugham.

Biographical / historical:

Colles was born in 1855; he became a prominent literary agent in London; his published works include Literature and the pension list (1889) and Playright and copyright in all countries, showing how to protect a play or a book throughout the world (with Harold Hardy, 1906); he died in 1926.
